I've always wanted to see inside a manual transmission and since i wanted to check the condition of our tranny I decided to take it apart. To my surprise, the tranny we got with our 100K+ mile car was new! It had recently been rebuilt!!!! Here are some pics of the inside

Take out all the bolts and the shift lever mechanism and these are the pieces you are left with. Here is shot of the inside Here is a shot of the shift lever mechanism and ball bearing Here is a picture of the output shaft, speedo gear, and tranny gears.
